If you have an email address ending in @vetta.net.nz, this notice is for you. Vetta will be permanently decommissioning its legacy hosted email service on 1 August 2026. After this date, the service will shut down, and all data will be deleted.
We’re providing approximately 90 days’ notice from today to give you plenty of time to make arrangements. Please read on for what you need to do and the options available to you.
Key date: The @vetta.net.nz email service will be shut down on 1 August 2026. All emails and data will be permanently deleted on this date and cannot be recovered.
What’s changing
Vetta has operated a legacy hosted email platform for former ISP customers using the @vetta.net.nz domain for many years. As part of our ongoing infrastructure rationalisation, this service will be retired on 1 August 2026.
This does not affect any other Vetta services, including web hosting, managed servers, or business email products.
What you need to do
Before 1 August 2026, you should:
- Choose a new email address – see the options below
- Update your contacts – let people know your new address
- Save any emails you wish to keep – export or download important messages before the cutoff date
- Update any accounts that use your @vetta.net.nz address for login or notifications
Important: Data cannot be recovered after 1 August 2026. Please ensure you back up any emails you need before this date. Our team cannot restore emails once the service has been decommissioned.

The simplest option is to sign up for a free email address with one of the major providers. All of the following are free, reliable, and available to anyone:

Custom email address on your own domain
If you’d prefer a more personal or professional email address – such as [email protected] – Vetta can assist. We can register a domain on your behalf and set up a hosted email solution to suit your needs.
